I believe in creating digital and life experiences that are thoughtfully tailored to the person experiencing them. Most of all, I enjoy the inception of UX design. I love that I can learn and problem solve in vastly different industries. From educators, to healthcare providers, to law enforcement - I look for and thrive in environments where I can use my craft to enable my users to make a difference in the lives of the people they serve.

Core UX - Legal
Google's mantra is "focus on the user, and all else will follow". This mantra is central to Google's culture and drives product development and innovation. Google's goal is to create products and services that serve the best interests of its users.
For the Legal team, our mission is to protect Google users’ privacy and data.
MY ROLE
My work serves and is built alongside many internal and external users within the Legal space. The following bullets are intentionally vague and do not encompass all impact.

Create workflows that allow non-Google users to receive data and appeal communications

Scheduling
The scheduling zone at athenahealth serves as the “front door to healthcare”. We enable patients to self schedule (Consumer Scheduling), referral coordinators and providers to refer patients elsewhere (Clinical Provider Search Widget), administrators to manage provider calendars, and take care of all the details in between.
In January 2020 we recorded 7,200 monthly bookings and as of June we have over 70,000 total patient bookings.
MY ROLE
While on the Scheduling zone I’ve worked with my scrum teams to deliver a modular, responsive framework for Patient Scheduling which could be reused and embedded within in other applications or client websites. I’ve helped integrate that experience into another internal application and have designed a future in which Patient Scheduling can scale and provide more flexible and open booking to patients. Most recently I’ve designed and tested a way for providers to refer patients to other providers who will give them the best quality care for an affordable price. This work is currently in implementation to be delivered in Q3.

Care Management
Care Management as a Service (CMaaS) is paving the way for technological improvements at athena by successfully integrating a care management micro-service into three of it’s core products. Care management is essential to athena moving away from Fee For Service which pays providers a portion of the services they provide, to a Value Based Care strategy which focuses on overall patient wellness.
By July 2019 we had over 206 live clients using 239,000+ care plans with a 9% increase of active users in Population Health and 16% increase in Clinicals users. Our work resulted in an increase of new care plans by 36%. In late 2019 the care plan was made generally available in Clinicals for 90k+ providers.
MY ROLE
My specific role across two scrum teams was obtaining knowledge of athena’s Population Health and Clinicals products so that I could ensure a seamless experience and provide product insight to influence the team working on the care plan widgets. There were a lot of minor integration experiences that together made a huge impact on the usability of the care plan, but the most impactful were the following user workflows.
